Doug Church began his Elvis career in the United States Air Force in 1983, winning the talent contest held annually by the Air Force. He competed against hundreds of other contestants, starting at the base level and proceeding through to regional levels. Ultimately, he won over other bases in the European and U.S. Air Force Commands. He collected 11 first place trophies (not merely for impersonating Elvis, but many other categories such as "male vocalist", "potpourri musical" and even "comedy") over four and a half years of competitions.

After leaving the Air Force, Church began performing locally in clubs in and around the Midwest. In 1990, he competed in the 4th annual Worldwide Elvis Impersonator Contest in Memphis, Tennessee. Church took 2nd place his first time out, competing against Elvis impersonators from all over the world. The following year he returned to Memphis to capture the 1st place crown as the "World's Best".

In 1990 Church, became a full time Tribute Artist and in 1993 after a successful audition with Legends in Concert (a musical impersonator review, based in the Imperial Palace hotel and casino in Las Vegas) he started touring the country and subsequently the world, performing in exotic locations such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Aruba, the Bahamas, and even Moscow.

Church has since left the Legends in Concert to perform the shows that won him acclaim throughout the Midwest. Many say that Church's voice is so close to Elvis' that if you close your eyes, it feels like the King is right there in the room with you.

Church recently released two CDs featuring songs that Elvis might have chosen to perform today. While it is not the practice of to recommend one album over another, these CDs (titled Kingtinued and King Country) have some marvelous selections. Currently in production is King Country 2, which will be available in time for Christmas. The next Kingtinued project is scheduled to be an "unplugged" version. Kingtinued and King Country are both available at
